Aravis hadn't meant to not spend much time in her room. And to be honest, she was mostly back so as to change clothing and shower, which she did quickly and while keeping Ata in the room with her

Luke poked his head into the door and gave her a small smile. "Welcome back," he said quietly. "You were missed."

Aravis looked up, chancing a little smile. "You heard?"

"The squirrels pay attention to the woods," he said, watching her eyes carefully.

He didn't do something useless like ask if she was all right: Jedi powers were incredibly helpful in some situations.

Aravis nodded. "It was on the radio then. I don't imagine they followed us, though, did they?"

Luke shook his head, then bit his lower lip and walked further into the room. "I could guess the rest of it."

"I doubt that," Aravis replied, only a little derisively.

Luke gave her a look. "Seely doesn't go looking for Gavin and Peter because he wants to go for a picnic," he said.

"Karal was the one who got Gavin, I think," she corrected. "Seely went to Peter. I was taken. I'm back now."

Luke recognized this response from Leia right after Alderaan.

And Bespin.

And Tatooine.

Luke paused. Leia needed to stop throwing herself into trouble.

"And I'm glad of it," he said patiently. "I was wondering if you'd be interested in a sparring session some time soon?"

Leia'd liked to burn off energy in a way that didn't make her look vulnerable. He was wondering if Aravis was the same way.

"Maybe," she said, fairly agreeably. "I'm sporting some impressive wounds, though, so it may have to be a bit. Much though I'd like to, it's not really risk getting lectured at."

She yanked her shirt over her shoulder so he could see the bandages. "Least it's not my heart."

Luke hissed in a breath. "Ouch," he said softly, right hand twitching reflexively. "You paid them back."

It wasn't really a question.

"If they're lucky, they did not die in the desert," she replied, slipping her shirt up to show that her hip, as wekk, was sporting a bandage.

"But you wouldn't exactly lose sleep if they did," Luke commented quietly.

"No, not in the slightest," she replied softly. "Not that sleep is really something I've been enjoying."

"I know that feeling very, very well this month," Luke said, eyes haunted. "Memories are worse than living through it. I keep seeing all the ways it could've gone differently."

"For the worse, or better?" she asked softly.
