Marla took Altaria with her today. She seemed really pleased to see the egg, but I'm glad she's letting it go. It's going to be fun, I think, raising a Pokemon from the moment it hatches. Though I suppose Pidgeot and Nino are going to do the bulk of the raising, but I'm sure they'll need me for something. Cooking, if nothing else. Heh ( Read more... )

Hi Nino.

So what do you think is going to come out of this egg? A boy or a girl?

I dunno. Are there any factors that change tha-- whoa, Pidgeot, you're being gentle today, aren't you?

You told me he had to take off roughly! What a liar!

As for the egg, everyone has their theories. I personally like the one that plays off of how intuitive Pokemon are in general - the general idea is that if you talk to and about the egg as if it were a certain gender, then you're more likely to get it. The Pokemon inside will be motivated to please their trainer and all that.

Hm, really? What if I want to be surprised? Pidgeot, what do you want?

Heh, do you think that means "boy" or "girl"?

We should ask him when we're on the ground.

Heh, probably.

I wonder how much he thinks about the egg like that. Human parents do all sorts of wondering about their baby, but who knows what Pokemon do?

He's probably just happy to have an egg, right?

Probably. This must be so exciting for him.

Ah, Pidgeot! The market's right near the Pokemart, okay?

Heh, Pidgeot, you have such a gleam in your eye. Is this going to be a spectacular landing?

You have an egg to think about, Pidgeot!

He knows that. Ah, here we go...

Heh, what the hell is this landing, huh? You made it seem like something exciting was happening, but it's as smooth as ever.

What a thoughtful father. He must learn from the best.

Aw, well, he's still a softie at heart.

Do you want to take a rest in your Pokeball, Pidgeot? We can take care of the egg for you.
