Rambling About Writing Projects

Hey, looky! I wrote some linked Ray/Ray snippets for ds_snippets's two year anniversary! Guys, I love snippets. I'm at this weird stage in due South writing where everything ends up being either a really long WiP, or a teensy little fic that I'm almost embarrassed to post because it is, well, wee. But! Snippets! I can say, "Oooh, look, I'm fitting a lot of ( Read more... )

torchwood, writing stuff, due south stuff

If you still need someone to look at that fic for you, I'm about.

I'm kind of burnt out and I like this idea, but the thought of fleshing it out to a full-length fic makes me break out in hives

So that's not just me, then? Heh.

Yay for snippets!

'But! Snippets! I can say, 'Oooh, look, I'm fitting a lot of stuff into very little space! I'm making careful language choices and doing delicate character work!" rather than, 'I'm kind of burnt out and I like this idea, but the thought of fleshing it out to a full-length fic makes me break out in hives.'
That's the spirit :D

I can't wait to see your Torchwood fic. This may come as a shock, but I like that show. ;)

If you don't mind me asking, did you ever write that Fraser/Ianto fic you were talking about.

Ha! I never would have guessed... *g*

And I am still working on the Fraser/Ianto story! I wanted to write more of the TW characters first, just to give myself some context for the crossover. I usually have to write reams and reams of stories before I'm comfortable with the characters, and a crossover is, well, tough. But. I've got about 1000 words, and I'm going to go back when I'm a little more comfortable with Ianto and add much more. It's such an intriguing pairing. And! I loved your snippet very much. due South and Torchwood seems like an oddly natural crossover, don't you think?

That great to hear! I can't wait to see what you come up with.

I've always thought so. Fraser and Ianto do seem very similar. They both keep emotions inside, they both loved women the could have destroyed them and they are both kick ass when they have to be.

'And! I loved your snippet very much. due South and Torchwood seems like an oddly natural crossover, don't you think?'
Oh yes, there is a lot of potential for crack!fic crossover; both fandoms are know for cracky canon. Aliens are even canon in due South; the episode Starman, and RayK did say he was abducted by aliens.

TORCHWOOD!

Also, you know. \o/ for snippets! (I should totally go write some of those. Maybe even in the right fandom, who knows?)

Snippets are good. Snippets are our friends. I wish I could get myself to write even a snippet... *gg*

Also: OMGYAY! Torchwood fic from you!
*bounces in anticipation*

Although that: involve manly weeping and pterodactyl-related amputation. sounds scary. But good scary, because it's you. ;-)

Just close your eyes and plunge in, W!

I want to get a t-shirt that says, "good, but scary good" on it :-)
