FILL: Wandering Child, part 1/?? anonymous May 25 2012, 11:19:47 UTC
I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes. /o\ the idea just really caught me. this first part is mostly ensemble, and I haven't written much ensemble at all, so it's a leetle clunky. it'll even out, promise ( ... )

I'm just guessing- but maybe not so much that he is not considered a man- but that the implication is that he is considered lesser in general? (sub-human/sub-Asgardian etc.)

Not the OP so I'm just guessing, but I've got an uneasy feeling about what all this means about Loki's childhood.

Seconded, my god.

I presumed it was to do with being argr. Or possibly intersex, FTM, genderfluid, or similar. //shrugs

Also, Authoranon, I love you.

I love you too! your encouragement was what let me start posting this, and I'm actually really enjoying this (this is my first fill on the meme), so thank you so much for that!

your uneasy feelings will be sadly correct. it'll be a long fill, I think. I'm a big blonde viking type myself and I have a lot of feels about how twisted in on itself the mythology is. XD

I also want to sort of explore the team a bit, because there's two issues going on here -- a, the treatment, and b, his age. and the age isn't always the important, and the treatment isn't always the most important even if they inform each other, but different characters will have different ideas of what's more important at a given time just by being who they are, if that makes sense?

it's a very complicated situation, I think, because, well, what does it mean? and I am trying to WRITE THIS, and it is so much fun!

even if, poor loki. poor loki.

It's a very good first fill, that's for sure.

your uneasy feelings will be sadly correct.

Part of me is going yay angst!, thus proving that I am, in fact, a horrible person for whom death is too kind a punishment.

I have this odd feeling I ought to be throwing my laptop to the floor: "More!" And if I had, say, a spare laptop, I probably would, just to prove to you how much I adored this.

And wow, we're all going straight to Helheimr, aren't we, just for fucking up these poor kids.

In any case,

Sure, the plan, but some of the myths he remembered as probably not actually being myths (Loki slept once, exactly once, Clint at his feet with a bow half-drawn, and when he woke half an hour later Clint swore he could feel, for half a second, a weight on his hips that shifted, with claws opening him from the stomach out) linked straight up into things that he didn't recognise at all. Didn't mean they weren't true, but Clint half-suspected a lot of the myths were pure bullshit as far as the Asgard they had to deal with was concerned. The lack of proper criteria bugged him ( ... )
