He's never thought, he had a chance, what with Thor always being in the picture, protecting his brother. Guarding him as a jealous dragon would its hunt.
Unwilling to share him.
Unwilling to have anyone befriend Loki, usurp Thor's place in Loki's heart.
Balder waits, and waits for what seems like an eternity until things unravel and Asgard's favourite son falls and in the process destroys his brother.

Ooh, I'm loving Balder's perspective. I wonder how much of it is true. ♥

I love how your Balder is just slightly off. He's just a shade twisted without really doing anything wrong at all... so far 0_o.

This is glorious. I feel a bit mean, but I think my favourite line of it all was the very last one. Thor's heart breaking is a beautiful image.

Do they know Thor is watching? I guess it doesn't really matter at this point, except that I like to imagine Balder putting on a show on purpose ♥

Re-reading this and I just noticed I never left a comment the first time I read it D: (shame on me!)

This was fantastic, I loved how patient Balder is and how he can easily tell the best way to coax Loki into the relationship but I definitely love that he was so in love with Loki that he was willing to go much farther to ensure Thor staying in Midgard.

Thor watching at the end was heartbreaking but my Balder/Loki inner fangirl was doing a little victory dance :S
