Well, it sounds like an awesome show, but... it completely boggles my mind that my husband would have to pay twice as much as I would. HUH? What's with THAT?!

Yes, John complained that it was discrimination, and wanted to know why they chose 35 as the cut-off age.

It was an awesome performance, though! Children under 5 aren't allowed in the theatre, but if Maya is at all enraptured like Joshua, she will love it!

Thank you again so much, noradannan, for telling me about the performance!

Wish I could see that!

Actually, modernizing the satire lyrics is pretty common in otherwise unchanged G&S shows... it's especially common to do it with "I Have a Little List" in the Mikado. For those who have not seen/heard the Mikado, it's a song where the total coward executioner makes a show of reading a list of types of people he's going to behead... because "they'll none of them be missed!"; but they're all just every day annoyance type people, not criminals who actually deserve beheading. E.g. "people who talk on their cell phones in line" and "those people who take up the whole sidewalk and walk really slow" might be in a modernized version. Except with more rhyme and meter, of course.
