My sister-in-law's leukemia is in remission, and she's back home recovering from chemo. Even better, they found a partial bone marrow match for her. Of course, there are no guarantees even if it were a complete match, but things are definitely looking up.

I just found out that my mother has breast cancer. It's not a recurrence from her previous bout with the disease; it's brand new.
