The Saturday poem in July: Love and laughter

A few readers have promised to search out favourite 'love and laughter' theme poems for future weeks which is great :) This week we feature a poem which is not particularly in the laughter category but which is very certainly life affirming. This is such a beautiful image. :) Like so much of Whitman, you feel as though you have joined him in the scene. I love the warmth of the wintry day spent among chatting friends.

Yes it is a really vivid scene and you get a sense of a privileged view
