Yes! It is also where I boggle at the short notice married to marketroid speak, wondering if an Elvis look-alike sung at the drive-through wedding.

To paraphrase 37 Signals, you shouldn't be afraid to charge for a service you provide. If you've come up with a product people like and want to use, they won't mind paying for it.

Do more with vgifts! Like, I dunno, maybe they need an upsell in the navstrip when you're viewing somebody else's journal!

I got an... interesting pop up from LJ today while I was updating my journal and can't find any information anywhere about it. It basically asked if I wanted to allow anything I posted to be redistributed or reproduced by a third party company. Something like that, it really caught me off guard and I didn't think to screencap it. I was wondering if you had any information about this because I can't find a single mention of it anywhere and am pretty pissed that I would even get such a inquiry up when a) I am a paid user and b) all my entries default to friends lock. Thanks.

Hi! On the surface, it sounds that what is happening is an innocuous but annoying mix up. There's a feature over on Cyrillic services that lets you indicate that you allow/disallow this post to be used by third parties. This is because in Russia, LJ is an important media source, so the media likes to quote things from LJ and this is just a built in way to let third party companies know whether or not they can reproduce the contents of that post. I'm pretty sure that is what this is. It's not the first time it's accidentally popped up to users not on Cyrillic services.

If it happens again, I recommend going to Support. In the meantime, no worries! Your account is not compromised or anything.
