One of the hardest skills to develop as a D1 player is challenging/accepting/phonying... unless your word knowledge is perfect, you'll always have tough judgment calls about when to accept a word, when to challenge a phony, when to play something you're not sure of, etc. Never easy, even after a couple years of practice.

Stuff like GAUZED and FROMINTY... in the moment, it sucks to make mistakes, but in the long run, it's good to build up experience that you can draw on later. The fact that you've been playing less than six months and you're already getting that experience with people like Gibson and Cree is awesome. The more you play people like that, the faster you learn, so keep at it.

Sorry for drawing like a fiend against you! You played great from what I could see. Hope to see you around in the future.

I think my drawing in our 2nd game made up for that first bagging just fine. How else am I going to learn stuff like GaSTRULA? Thanks for the words of advice. Hope to play you again sometime as well.
