Why do I always allow myself to get so worked up about the snobbish negativity of music journalism? A lot has riled me over the past few days. In particular, the school of criticism which sees the need to praise something at the expense of something else (or vice versa). What is the point? Why? Why? Why

Having read the review before and after I read this, I'd say that he says this to give his own position within the context of the general chorus of hyperbole around AC. Is there something wrong with a writer describing into his own previous opinions on a band as an opening to a review?
