It doesn't matter what universe these two are in, things are never quite perfect between them. Such is the fate of a relationship between someone who walks the line between hero and villan and someone who walks the line between insanity and evil...I suppose at least.

I'm so glad you updated City, it's one of my favorites!

Oh my god. Poor Emily. Seriously, ive got tears in my eyes. Emma can be so cruel sometimes.

Poor Emily. On the other hand, it's a big breakthrough. It's true Emma says she doesn't want Emily (at least, not yet/enough), but I think Emma doesn't want anybody at this point. Emily is above everyone in that respect - Emma may not want her, but she does want her in the sense that she wants no one else to want her.
Of course,t hat's convoluted and hard to see, and I doubt it's much comfort to Emily, but to me, it hints of progress. And maybe it'll eventually lead somewhere.

Hair Salons anonymous August 9 2011, 15:03:11 UTC
There were plenty of hair salons in communist countries, though certainly a larger lack of good hair care than today. :)

Also good to see this story updated, though bad to see Emma's fear like that.

Ha! Good to know, although probably there were none that Emily's mother would have approved of.

Thanks!

I loved, loved the first section where Emily is thinking about her and Emma.

"Sometimes hugging Emma was like hugging a tree. Sometimes it was like hugging a knife right into her chest." This made me tear up.

And this chapter was wonderful.
