Jack had always tried to protect the ones he loved.
All the deaths and suffering needed to be stopped. He had to make it stop.

Becoming the protector of the island wasn’t a decision made by his god complex or a feeling that the island was all he’d left.
Love was the reason- and his urge to fix things.
He knew not everything could be fixed, but sometimes you just have to believe in yourself.
He couldn’t save his own life, but he made sure they’d all meet again; at a place created by (and protected with) love.
