Oh snap- righteous reviews of August 08

I cannot send my letter to Jann Jones yet because my printer is out of paper, plus I need to edit it a little to include WHY Beechen doesn't write a good Cass at parsimonia's suggestion. (I think I kind of forgot anyone would need that explained to them : P)

In other news my birthday is tomorrow (Yay!) in which I turn 17, and my senior year starts a week from ( Read more... )

But what the hell is Selina doing smoking?

I think there trying to make her look cool and bad-ass but it really doesn't work.

I thought the Batman telling Steph to delete picture scenario was kind of annoying. Unless it comes up in another R.I.P tie-in, it seems like it was only to make the comics more interesting.

Yeah, it annoyed me a little too, but we'll see where it goes...

A Helena vs. Babs fight should be huge and epic

"Epic" is right. To do a fight between those two justice, it'd probably take up half the comic. lol

Not to mention, this is pre-DickLeavesJasonDiesBabsisShotHorriblethingsOhGod, so Bruce should be a lot less uptight an dickish in the first place.

A few people were discussing the timeline for this on my Scans_daily post, and really, it doesn't make much sense to have it set at a time when Babs is still Batgirl. It should be closer to when Tim begins as Robin, which would place Babs in her very early or on-the-way-to-being Oracle stage.

Plus considering how much both Bruce and Babs disliked Helena originally, I think it would make more sense to have Batman be very uptight and intolerant of new and potentially dangerous vigilantes. As for Babs, having Helena appear out of no where and start kicking ass while Babs is still trying to adjust to the fact that she can't do that kind of work anymore would certainly contribute to her antagonism towards Huntress ( ... )

Yeah, the timeline confuses me too. And I'll admit the talking gargoyles got a chuckle out of me.

Renee's cool, but I'll wait to hear about the issue before I decide to get it.

Adding in reasons why Beechen doesn't write a good Cass isn't a bad idea, but if I were you, I'd also try to edit the rest of it down--don't make another paragraph. You worked it in very nicely with the letter, but Jann Jones doesn't really have anything to do with Cass, unless I'm very much mistaken. You've got a nice balance now, but if you add much more it's going to feel a bit off, in my opinion.

As for the new Supergirl run, I think it's most definitely going to be very exciting--but if you're planning on picking it up, I'd advise just adding the other two Superbooks (Action Comics and Superman) to your pull list as well. Not only are they among my favorite titles every month right now (Action Comics is arguably my absolute favorite book on the market), but they're both going to be strongly tied to Supergirl.

Yeah, I'll try not to get too wordy. As for Action comics...I'll consider it. See how things go.

Well, the main reason I suggest picking up Action Comics and Superman (aside from the sheer quality) is that Supergirl is going to be tying into them--as in, "Part 2 of New Krypton!", and the like. I don't know exactly how the storyline will be split up amongst the three titles (if you can read one without having to read the other or not), but for the full experience I'd definitely get all books.

Yeah, I liked the series over all too, it just makes me so sad the last issues are dissapointing.

Immigration in tricky, and I'm not sure Sturges will be able to handle it correctly, and so far it's not great handling.

Amd thanks! *hugs back* Oh, and on yer other post, much love for Brenda from me too.
