Bruce's nearly killing children in the first scene is a powerful beginning. Loki saved the children and sure he's an opportunist, but that move was clearly with not second thoughts at first.
And how they first reacted to each other, Loki of course superior and planning, while Bruce was understandably cautious. ^^
But they became friends, as Loki planned... and yet, did he really plan on liking Bruce that much? Not that he can't use a true friend. <.< Loki lacks those in Asgard after all.
Now... what would the Hulk do when he meets Loki on the battlefield? Somehow I can't see him attacking Loki like in Avengers, but that would mean that Loki could maybe flee...?
So want more of this! >.< You made me read all Bruce/Loki fanfics on AO3!

...it will be a cold day in hell before I write a sequel to this, or a really hot one, if hell is already frozen over, like some people like to belief... ^.^"
He didn't have second thoughts then, it was all about saving the children. Sure, Hulk caught Loki's attention, but finding out about Banner and his 'potential future uses' only came later. As a devoted father, Loki wouldn't stand idly by and watch as children are hurt.
I think some of Loki's feelings are genuine, or as much as he would allow himself to.
I think if I ever wrote a sequel, Banner would pick up on Loki being mind-controlled by something - in other words: Thanos - and try to help him. Bruce didn't have much sympathy for SHIELD or the Avenger Initiative, even though he came to like Tony and the others well enough...

Mmh. *looks outside* It's getting colder already... does this count?
Deep deep down Loki is a good guy. Kinda lost, kinda abadoned good guy that as all the reasons to be not good. But well. It's there. Did you read the comic series with kid!Loki? The end was heart wrenching and I just adored the pictures.
^^ I hoped that his feelings are genuine.
Mmh, it's a nice idea. I admit that it would be enough to read a friendship between them. It's just that of all people I think Bruce might be the one who understands Loki's horror of himself the best. Which is something I rarely see written.
