I wish I liked any of these characters at all. Because it looks pretty.
But... really, Marvel? The only female hero you could think of to put in with the Avengers was a nonpowered redhead in a tight outfit? You couldn't use, say, Miss Marvel, or Scarlet Witch, or the Wasp, or, FFS, the Monica Rambeau Captain Marvel OR ANY OF THE OTHER SUPERPOWERED WOMEN OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE?
I wish DC would stop kissing Frank Miller's ass and actually put out a decent movie, especially one that wasn't about the fucking Batman or Superman.
*angry and discontent with comicdom and Hollywood*
I cosign on all of this. And the sad part is that Black Widow is actually a formidable badass, not just as a fighter but as a tactician who can easily trounce Hawkeye and could give Steve Rogers a run for his money with no powers.
But I know that aspect about BW won't be explored.
I think including Monica would've been the best choice because then you would've had two women and two POCs for the team.
And this is what I don't understand about DC. Bruce TImm and Dwayne McDuffie proved that DC has an incredible stable of marginalized characters who can carry their own titles if given the chance, but they refuse to acknowledge it.
