Aang sat at the back, patiently awaiting his turn. His huge albatross wings were folded against his back, lifted just a little so the tips weren’t crushed against the floor. Preening him was a two-person job, so he waited until the others were done. Meanwhile, he preened Sokka’s feathers, carefully picking out the loose ones and straightening the rest. The white-spotted black loon feathers were soft against his fingers and smelled like the ocean

Oh you're right. This is lovely. I think my favorite sentence is "The group shared a look up and down the line, coming to a mutual conclusion." Which for me sorta tied in the whole scene into a visible cohesion. I also enjoyed how everyone had a different kind of wing, reflecting their background and personality. Very nice.

I love the distinct method of grooming each person has and how their wings are treated, and the slip from point-of-view to point-of-view down the chain. Very well done and a really nice narrative choice.

Love the end bit there with Toph watching.

Zuko has dragons' wings, and they have been bound since he was very small. Now, though, he's on his way to find his destiny, and the bandages are coming off- for the first time, he knows what is hurting, and why, as they stretch.

:D:D:D I don't mind the delay at all -- I still haven't finished the only one I ever did, because I suck at drabble, and you know, things under 5,000 words.

HERE ARE TWO PROMPTS. I might have more, but these are the ones I want to see so far that haven't been requested yet.

* Katara and Zuko, the battle with Azula and its aftermath -- I imagine Zuko's feathers are pretty ruffled by the lightning and whatnot.

* Toph and Katara at the Fancy Lady Day Spa. Toph's healthy coating of earth is in her feathers, too. This is inspired by how my chickens dust themselves in the backyard and have made quite the little wallow in the back corner in which they roll in the dirt and kick it up around them and carry on hilariously and shamelessly.
