Are there any Sydney people/people who've been to Sydney around these parts who can explain the sections for the buses? They really could have made this so much more straightforward. I'm quite sure Melbourne's public transport makes more sense than this.

If you're planning to travel around a lot in the one day, I would suggest you get a daytripper. This saves you the hassle of trying to figure out which ticket you need for which trip with x amount of sections to cover. It also means that you don't have to worry about the Prepay bus issue, and it also means you'll save more money in the long run! The link provided should have details on where to get tickets from
