Adult Swim's actions so far this year have seemed to suggest that they've come to hate anime. It wasn't just that they
limited anime to just one night, but it wasn't even
a full night. Saturday nights had long been solely for their anime shows, & the fact that they cut the amount of anime on Saturdays in half really angered many anime fans. But at long last, things are beginning to look right again.
Starting tomorrow, Saturday nights on Adult Swim will be all anime once again! Perhaps they realized that their Saturday ratings will suck no matter show they stick in that time slot. Nevertheless, the first hour that was once controlled by non-anime programming will now be a full hour of InuYasha, starting from the very beginning of the series (you know, when the plot was actually good & promising). This extra block isn't to be confused with the full hour of InuYasha that airs every single night at the 5am hour, which will also be shown on Saturdays. Do the math, & that equals up to three full hours of InuYasha every Saturday night. Hey, we asked for it to be all anime. We never specified we wanted variety.
Another good piece of news about this scheduling change is that Code Geass wont be getting the terrible last half-hour block of the night. The bad news is that Shin-Chan will. Sucks for Funi's little guy that could, but I guess someone had to get the slot. The new full schedule can be seen below, all times being in Eastern & Pacific:
- 11:00 InuYasha
- 11:30 InuYasha
- 12:00 Bleach
- 12:30 Death Note
- 01:00 Code Geass
- 01:30 Shin-Chan
