Rachel and Ben being behind the blackout. Ben sold the world for greed, Rachel proved that everything is Danny's fault.

Miles founding the Militia and being worst than Monroe (and Monroe being his BFF) is a close #2.

This is kind of weird in a lovely way, because these happen to be the opposite ordering of mine, with Miles at #1, and then the Ben-Rachel tag-teamed devastation being #2. I especially loved seeing so dark down into Ben. Reminds me a lot of what Kripke and Co. have been saying about how each of the characters have their shade of gray. There's no singularly white or black character. Morally.

Well, it was a close second, so great minds and all? I think for it was kinda obvious that Miles was shady, drinking to forget and once we knew Monroe was Bass his BFF, it was kinda obvious that he founded the Militia. I think that's why it's #2 for me- it's a cool reveal, but it's not really shocking.

But Ben pretty much knowingly destroying the world for greed? That was an awesome surprise. I get the feeling that he's also a hypocrite and would shun Miles for founding the Republic, while keeping to himself his involvement in the blackout ( ... )

Hmm...I don't know really. Randall Flynn, I think? His existence widens out the narrative possibilities.

OMFG. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN SCHOOL CONSUMES ME AND I LEAVE LJ FOR A FREAKING WEEK. HOW DID I MISS ALL THESE AWESOME THREADSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

I think my favorite revelation so far has been the reveal of Miles being general and co-founder, and then further that he was partially responsible for Rachel's leaving her family/for some of Charlie's abandonment issues.

It's largely due to not just the reveal itself but how the reveal came about. The technical aspects of everything that went into that scene, with Jeremy being overwhelmed by the image of the American flag, with the canting of the frame, with the 'sinister' shot we get of Miles that follows... It's all very effective and one of the better done moments of the series IMO.
