"See how the sun shines brightly in the city on the streets."

Here in Italy today's a holiday, but instead of celebrating the Three Wise Men, like in other european countries, we get gifts from the Befana. It's an old lady who flies on a broom and brings candy or coal to kids. We leave stockings for her to fill. I can proudly say I never got a piece of coal in my life, except for when I stole it from my ( Read more... )

I can't quite remember the end of Father Ted. Was that the episode where he thinks he's moving to a brilliant new parish in LA, but it's a misunderstanding and he ends up having to stay on Craggy Island (forever, as Dougal helpfully reminds him)? I love Father Ted.

Yep, that's the one! It is a brilliant episode, but the fact is that Dermot Morgan died of heart attack 24 hours after filming that episode. So at the end they put a quick slideshow of the best moments from the previous episodes, and then had a shot of the parish at night with Ted and Dougal saying "goodnight". It was obviously a last-minute way to edit a normal episode into a final episode, which on one hand I appreciated, because I agree the show couldn't go on without him, but on the other hand it was very depressing and chilling. So I needed a little pick-me-up after that ( ... )

Congrats on the holiday and the awesome present!♥

I share your feelings on Father Ted and The Vicar of Dibley to a tee. (By the way, The Vicar of Dibley was the first thing in which I saw Richard Armitage some twelve years ago, I was in the UK. I thought he was very handsome and well cast.:) Fast-forward several years later and he was filming an episode of Spooks in my local shopping center, I missed them literally by a minute, I saw their cars leaving the parking just as I arrived in Tesco's with my shopping list.:D)

I just finished watching the last episode! Basically, all Mr Armitage did in those two episodes was a) stare at Geraldine in total adoration and b) looking handsome. It was awesome to watch. :D And the way he almost banged his head on the frame everytime he walked through a door! The North & South sets were much more suited to his frame, the poor guy here looked insanely tall. And my shipper heart was doing happy cartwheels, as he looked at Geraldine the exact way he looks at Bilbo in The Hobbit movies. Gotta love his acting choices. ♥

And now I feel a re-watch of North & South is due. I do one every couple of months anyway. ;)

Eeeeeee at your icon!

I find it rather ironic that the best working environment for his frame must have been The Hobbit sets and locations...where he played a dwarf.:D

I have to wonder who was the first person who looked at him and said: "there's our dwarf king!"

Although to be fair the actor who plays Gimli is way tall as well. :D
