By 'cleansing' do you mean removing makeup, or cleaning the actual skin? For removing makeup try olive oil (virgin/extra virgin etc doesn't matter), for skin itself without removing makeup try coconut oil.

I meant cleansing the actual skin. I don't wear makeup.

Thanks -- I'll try coconut oil.

I used to use castor oil to cleanse but I sort of think it doesn't matter for me. I have the same or better results using straight olive oil or grapeseed oil.

If you're not putting anything on your face that you need to wash off (makeup, etc.), and warm water alone was working fine, why not just use that? Water alone should be sufficient to wash your face... if there's nothing else to wash away, you shouldn't really need anything more heavy-duty than that. And from what you're describing, when you just used water alone, it seemed to work fine.

I typically wear makeup and use OCM to wash the makeup off before bed, but other than that I only use water; I'll use a warm washcloth to wash my face in the morning when I get up, or if I didn't wear any makeup that day.
