Patriotism = Nazi?

Question for: Germany but any nation can comment
Question: I was on the sports community commenting on the Spain vs. Germany match when I met a German who told me that patriotism is generally looked down on. She told me that she was called a Nazi for being patriotic. Is that true?

Haha.. it is kinda true. See, there was so much nationalism during WW2 that became linked in the minds of the German people with the Nazism of the time. Our patriotism suffers because that now, and it's uncool to have a German flag out or be patriotic...

BUT! I'm hoping that the younger generation will get a taste of this positive patriotism with Fußball and come to have more pride than the older generations!
