Are there no comments here?

Loving all the interpersonal play here. Hart irritating everyone but still coming off as a real person, that's excellent. There's something kind of cool about a complete and total self-interest. Jenny's cool calculation, joy in the chase, confidence that the puzzle can be solved, and perpetual headache. Ianto's guilt about half-causing the Thames House disaster, so crushing that he can't process it entirely. His confidence in Jack, tempered by the understanding that sometimes really sucky things happen and you have to just go with it, or go crazy.

Thank you! The characters are coming to this from vastly different places, and I am glad that they sound natural when they do.

Hope you like the rest!

Oh, *Jack* - no-one taking proper care of him, so quietly spending himself, and the others not *really* doing their bit for his welfare, as Ianto would - it's such a sad/bittersweet contrast for Ianto holding him through things, and such a clear reflection of the difference without Ianto. And self-imposed "penance" for whatever he's decided he needs to pay for, and etc... and the others not cottoning - or am I overthinking? And in contrast, oh, *Ianto*, stuck in _that_ colony of all places, with _those_ people around, and that feeling of guilt/responsibility, with no-one to talk sense into him... this story is fantastic, and I'm very pleased to have found it (finally!), and grateful to you for having written it, and taken the time and effort to have posted it to share with all of us. Thank you so much.

I also desperately want to read "Me: An Autobiography" - even with the 'pretty' commas!

The pretty commas got cleaned up by the editor. :) And yeah, you're overthinking that part a bit. Jack's not punishing himself, he's working as hard as he can, trying to play nice with everyone, but dealing with an adolescent AI who's missing her mom and blames him. But oh yes, Ianto is riding the guilt train hard right now. One thing I liked about his character way back in "Cyberwoman" was that after the initial shock, he took responsibility for Dr. Tanazaki's death. The other characters' actions also led to the deaths of others, but we actually saw Ianto say, "This is my fault." His own role in the Thames House massacre is going to haunt him, especially now when he's surrounded by the living ghosts. :)

Glad you're liking the story!

Hart had heard of shame and didn't want any part of it - sounds about right

"I've been helping him edit. He rambles, and he thinks commas should go where they're pretty." - HA! LOL

if he happened to learn more about Jack's mysterious past as he did so, well, it wasn't like Jack hadn't written the thing for the whole universe to see. - *chin in hand* this makes it all worthwhile *grin* So many things he could learn. Think of the untold stories! :D This autobiography begs to be written. ;D And just look at the lovely prompts you've left yourself. ;)

"It's not a tell-all. It's just Jack. He's had an interesting life. You're a part of it." Her expression did not look convinced. - awww *wistful, faraway, watery-eyed grin* More stories. *fist-punches the air*

Actually, I prefer quoting from it. So much more room for getting in, telling the joke, and getting out. ;)

It is my head canon that Alice will always be his favorite child. :)
