Sooo... I loved the Veronica Mars movie. Like, a lot. Like, I haven't really stopped thinking about it lately at all. And oddly enough, among the many ideas floating around in my head, this is the one fic that I actually finished writing first.

This was really nice. A friend who saw the movie was annoyed about Dick's "joke" about chronic depression, but I didn't take it that way. I thought that he really was depressed (since he certainly has reason to be) and he was trying to make it seem like a joke. Well done.

Yeah, I agree - I don't think the depression comment was actually a joke, much as Dick would rather pass it off as one. His life has pretty much been awful, in a lot of ways.

Excellent. The one issue I had with the movie was not enough wrap up time. I'm looking forward to the books digging into Dick's psyche a little more.

Oh, yes - I definitely felt like there were so many character threads that the movie didn't have time to wrap up! The books getting into that more would be wonderful.

Great fic. It was good seeing Dick be emotional and honest with Veronica instead of always hiding behind his jokes. And it was nice to see Veronica actually stop and listen to what he has to say.

Yes, I think Veronica, our adult Veronica, would be able to see that Dick was in real pain and would therefore want to at least listen.
