1. Tell your VP you don't want to go into management, what career path and responsibilities you're interested in and why. It might work.

2. We're in Santa Monica and hiring sysadmins, if you're interested.

Hey thanks. I doubt I'm qualified enough for a full blown sysadmin. I'm in the same place I'm always at career-wise; I don't know what I want to do when I grow up! =-/

Not sure I know what I want to be when I grow up either (assuming I ever want to grow up). In the meantime, playing with mail and dns servers is lots of fun.

Also, I've explained to my management that I am not only not interested, I'm not good manager material anyway and they're happy to let me stay a sr. sysadmin. So if you've got a level you like staying at, we're probably good with it.
