*feels proud to have known all these things 8D* I definitely knew not to call anyone from the UK "British". My Scottish friends will rip your throat out for that.

I lol'd when it got to the Tower of London. Oh, Jim.

Actually, I pretty sure you can anyone British. Most people from England refer to themselves as "British" over "English". What you definitely can't do is call a Scotsman or a Welshman "English". They would definitely rip your face off. With their teeth. :P

Haha! You'll have to come to Britain just have a look at our Tower. ;)

Not my friends XD. They're really passionate about getting their independence, so associating themselves with that terminology is like a slap in the face. They are Scottish for life and nothing else. The English I can see having no problem with that and I don't think I have too many Welsh friends that bring it up, but I wouldn't even begin to say that to someone Scottish.

That doesn't surprise me, that they prefer "Scottish" over all other terminology. But technically they are British and shouldn't get pissed with outsider calling them thus. I mean, in the Olympics this year they'll be with us under the title of Great Britain. (Only in the Commonwealth Games are they allowed to compete against England as "Scotland".)

You're applying for grad school over here?! How exciting. What subject are you applying for? I've never been to Edinburgh but Bath is just lovely (and much closer to LONDON). Happy I could give you a crash course. :D
