I believe they would have left her to die as Tyra Hunter was left to die.

I truly do believe it. The record of abominable treatment of trans* people is . . . well, frankly and quite literally, it makes me want to puke. And people are just fucking ignorant of it. Wilfully so, I swear. UGH. RAGE.

Especially given that in the UK the "Equalities Act" is stripping legal human rights protection from trans people.... I try not to think that the majority of cis people consider us unpeople and would be quite happy if we just went away and died (if they don't take it into their own hands), but many days it is really fucking hard.

"Equalities Act?" Equalities Act?!

The irony gods need to find whoever named it that and fuck them with an oil-drilling auger.

What the blue fucking hell. Whatever happened to "first, do no harm"?

These people are vile and should have their medical licenses revoked posthaste.

That applies only to people, and these assholes have a very limited definition of what constitutes "person."

I really hate these people.

This is reprehensible.

I am going to crosspost and email to my trans friends who aren't on LJ.

I sure hope she's going to sue their asses.

Damn. I wish I had my license right now, I'd offer her my services pro bono.

I may be cis, but I'll be damned before I deny the humanity of fellow people!

Seconded. I'd thought empathy was common in the medical profession--guess I was wrong.

Empathy is not all that common in the medical profession. Nope. Not at all.

takes my breath away. One of my husband's best friends in the world (since high school) is transgendered and we helped and supported all through the process. I hope that if she ever gets hurt in an accident she will be treated well, and since she lives in Lawrence, KS, she likely will because it is a progressive community.

GAAAAAAAAAAH. that hospital and it's employees are just eeevil.
