Okay, so celticmistress is a cat magnet, and has taken in two orphan kittens who look to me to be five weeks old or so. They are sick. Both have respiratory infections, and the female has some sort of urinary/kidney infection and really needs to see a vet. Like the rest of us, celticmistress is getting fucked by the recession. She can't afford a vet, and no clinics near ( Read more... )

If only I were closer to celticmistress. . .I'd be willing to front her/the vet/the appropriate parties the money and get paid back via my own paypal account (have also been saving aggressively). Unfortunately I'm way the hell over in the Bay Area. :-(

edit: Actually, screw it - if I can mail a check somewhere, I'll still front her the money and get paid back with paypal. naamah_darling, if that sounds useful, let me know and give me some details via metostad (at) usc (dot) edu.

Argh. If we hadn't just put quite a large sum towards helping get the step-daughter and her three kids safely to their destination as they moved across the country, we'd be right there to pitch in towards those cuties.

Is she near any teaching schools, or training facilities for vet techs/veterinarians? They might be cheaper.

US Bank lets you deposit money into someone's account even if you only know their first last name and state. If she has a common name, then a middle name or even listing the kitty's names in the account would probably work.

My mom used to give me money that way, since there was one close to her (That's how I broke my mom of sending cash in the mail actually...).

It does take about $100 in deposit to open an account though.
