New Additions to the Garden

What better way to spend a cold late autumn day than pouring over the 'for spring planting' catalogs? mmymoon and I have been doing just that via AIM this afternoon. Now that I have all the fall planting squared away, I've got a better idea of where I will have room for additional plants next year. I was thinking about getting some Queen of The Night bulbs, but I never got around to it, and now there are no more to be had for this season at a reasonable price (I saw some a Lowes at one point, and I still didn't get them >_<). It's a definite possibility for next year, though.

Oh wow! That blue rose is fantastic! I thought I read once that there was no such thing as blue roses, and that they (scientists or botanists... rose breeders? not sure) were trying to create one. I'm either remembering the wrong color, or someone did it. All those flowers are gorgeous.

No, I have heard that about blue roses too, so I did a little research and found the answer. Turns out it's another case of better living (and gardening!) through Science:
