Did you read the Paradise Lost trilogy in HP fandom? It came out around the same time as the Draco Trilogy and also had some good Draco/Ginny. (The DT was one of my earliest forays into HP fic and I can't hate it even though Cassie Clare has turned out to be a bit sketchy).

And retold fairy tales! I'll have to check out some of the things you've mentioned.

No! I haven't come across it. Am googling right now!

A posteriori I realise I've left stuff behind: The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter fits both the big bad wolf and the retold faerie tales.

She took it offline, but I have a copy saved if you can't find it : ) It's mostly Harry/Hermione, but Draco & Ginny are together (or get together? I can't remember)

Hades and Persephone's myth is one my favorites. I'm just overall fascinated with Persephone and characters like her.

I was hoping you'd mention The Lion in Winter! It's my absolute #1 favorite movie.

Have you seen the movie, The Company of Wolves? It's based on the short story, and it's dark and beautiful. Angela Carter co-wrote the screenplay, too.

Company of Wolves was awesome! And gross! but fascinatingly so!

I want to choose between Lion in Winter the Hepburn version and the Close version but I can't! the chemistry of each cast is incredible!

Persephone is kind of vague. She can be either a complete victim and cursed with the endless change of seasons or she can have chosen to eat those pomegranate seeds and the change of seasons an obstacle. Or it can be a blessing because she gets to have everything.
