It’s snowing for my first time this winter. Although I completely understand the dreadful energy loss that I’m causing by keeping the shutters up in order to occasionally look outside and squee fangirlishly so at the pretty white, I refuse to roll them down!

I went out last night-this from anyone else in my RL would mean for drinks and/or clubbing. ( Read more... )

The Persuasion fanfic? Haven't read it but it's Captain Wentworth and Anne Elliott in the novel. It's actually my fave Austen, but maybe that's because it takes place in Bath and I bought it in Bath. Anne Elliott is so nice that she makes me want to be a better person, though that rarely lasts more than a few hours...

Will definitely be stealing the 'I'd Shag That' meme. I was giggling reading it and now the people I'm sitting near in Starbucks think I'm insane. And don't worry - I'm sure I'll have way more than 66 question marks.

I saw the movie with Sally Hawkins and Rupert Penry-Jones. It's actually the only other Jane Austen novel I am now tempted to read (I've only ever read P&P). But still, isn't Anne just a little too good? Like she's only sort of doing it as a penance and becoming a martyr out of it?

See, now I want to watch the movie - haven't seen any of the new Austen movies the BBC did a little while ago.

I think Anne is one of those people who would be annoyingly good in real life, but it works in the book because it's a shorter piece and therefore the plot moves faster. At least we get a little more Anne/Wentworth action than the heroine and hero do in some of her other works. P&P is definitely the best, though. I'd stay away from Mansfield Park because Fanny is also a bit too good and doesn't have better characters and/or a swifter plot to save her.

happy birthday!

Contrary to my original belief I found I couldn't dislike Anne. And Anne/Wentworth are so much cooler than Fanny/Edmund (again this opinion comes just from the Beeb movie).

Thanks so much:D:D:D
