Thanks. It was a lovely ceremony, really moving.
Don’t know what the rest of the clientele of the pub thought when it was invaded by a horde of vikings :)

So sad he was in such a bad place to take his own life, but what a wonderful and worthy farewell.

Depression is an awful thing. It was a very moving send-off.

It’s so sad that he couldn’t find happiness in all the amazing things he did and even more importantly m with all those people who obviously cared for him so much.
It sounds like a very special and meaningful goodbye for him, love all the little details they organised. A good way to leave.
So lovely they adopted you. They sure sound like a great bunch of people!

It’s desperately sad, he leaves a wife and two step kids, and lots of friends. Such a charismatic guy. Certainly a memorable goodbye for him.

They’re a diverse bunch, and a lot of fun (despite the circumstances).

I shed a fair few tears myself. *hugs*
Depression is such a bastard. Stress and a bad day and someone can make a mistake there’s no going back from.

It was a lovely memorial.

It was a lovely funeral.

Not quite as epic as this one: https://www.broadstreetbeacon.com/family-cited-for-viking-funeral-on-local-lake/
the link to which one of his friends has just posted in G’s memorial Facebook group, and G’s friends and family are pissing themselves laughing about.
His widow’s comment was “Before anyone says it: No! This doesn't mean "we totally could have" 😂🤣”

Funnily enough, we were thinking about send offs back in March and this does seem like a most excellent way to go!! Oops?
