Looks like you have a tomcat in your bed!

Indeed we do, and a very pretty/handsome one he is too. He is an "Australian Mist', a breed developed for areas where there are cat curfews. He is 50% Burmese, 25% Abyssinian, 25% tabby. He is the most delightful cat I have ever lived with - super intelligent, friendly, quite convinced that every visitor to the house has come to see him.

Why for areas with "cat curfews"?
I do like friendly cats.

There are a couple of states in Australia where cats are not allowed to go out at night. Tasmania is not one of them. I suppose if a cat had to live in an indoor only environment this breed would adapt happily. We got him from the cat's home when he was betwwen 6 & 9 years old (a guess) and he had obviously not been outside before, but adapted to the new freedom very happily.

He's such a pretty kitty.

Love the long tail!
(My last cat was a grey tiger)

I couldn't resist the shot of the tail. The 2nd pic was taken 30 minutes later, when he had changed position.

Bed is a very comfortable place. He likes to get under the covers, where the sun doesn't bother his eyes.

It's unusual for a cat to like going under the covers. At least, in the cats I've had. I read above that he is part-Burmese. I love Burmese cats! I looked after one in my 20s for a while.

The Abyssinian bit adds a new dimension. He has this cute habit of sitting on his haunches and doing a vertical lift, like the Meerkats do. He also has a totally delightful temperament.

Is that all one cat?

Hey what a lovely blanket, the green at the bottom of the second photo.
Very dashing cat too! They always find a place to repose where they look their best, don't they? Hattie has a preference for reposing on dark blue, because it sets off her warm-toned black fur and her deep golden eyes to perfection.

That is Smokey. He had changed position between the 2 shots, taken about 30 minutes apart. Couldn't resist the first one, when all I could see was his tail!
