The idea for a fic rec panel came about two years ago when [ Wraithfodder ] did an awesome one for Stargate Atlantis. It was like a Fanfic Nato Summit with laptops and everything as people called out and culled from their favorite lists and others pulled up the url's as they went.

Since I can never resist sharing my favorite fics, I have a few things to add.

First off, the community Torchwood House is a rec site for Torchwood that recommends great fic, videos, meta posts, etc., has plenty of tags so you can sort things by pairings, episode, genre and so forth. Great site.

More specific recommendations--though fair warning my favorite pairing in Torchwood is Jack and Ianto so slash is going to appear in all of these though the explicit-ness varies.

All great links! Thanks again for doing this! I was busy typing away the recs thrown out there during the panel that I really didn't have much of my own to contribute. Post 'The Year' and just after 'KKBB', the fic opens up just after the team runs in to get the Hub ready for their past counterparts (because time went back a day after KKBB) and Jack's injuries...caught up. Maybe I'm just a sucker for post 'Year' fics or hurt Jack, but I like how Owen begrudgingly realizes from Jack's injuries that their capt. didn't just 'swan off' as they thought. It is a hurt/comfort of the best kind: snarky, "I couldn't care less" attitude, that the readers know better. :)

Does anyone know of the tenth doctor /jack story where jack was waiting for the doctor so he built a civilisation around the doctor being worthy of worship? Or some weird thing like that....I do remember that jack had a room dedicated to the doctor kinda like a shrine.....if anyone knows what im talking about you can email me at kmapplebeck@hotmail.com
