Good lord! What a nightmare. Do you all have flood insurance of any kind? Who built the extension? Does new construction come with warranties from builders down there?

Good luck with everything, hon. *hugs*

Yeah, it's been a stressful couple of days. But we do have flood insurance, so hopefully that'll cover any damages. The company that did the extensions did guarantee that the roof wouldn't leak and said it would be safe to put electrical equipment in there so hopefully they'll take some responsibility. At the least we shouldn't pay for them to redo the gutters... I'm so happy hubby will be dealing with them though. So fingers crossed we'll get some sort of compensation from somewhere.

*hugs*

Yeah, it hasn't been one of the best weeks of my life :)
But we fared pretty well considering. And we were very lucky the rain stopped when it did. The contractor that was here yesterday said that if it had continued, it would have flooded the whole house so I'm thanking my lucky stars it stopped raining when it did.

*hugs back tightly*

I hope you're all okay, I got terrified when the building next to mine got hit with lightening
Scary stuff, all I've had to suffer was the wireless going out but still. Glad today is sunny so it hopefully dries everything up a bit

Yeah, we're ok. The damage to the house wasn't too bad and shouldn't be too expensive to fix. Well, fingers crossed anyways. I'm desperately hoping that the storm predicted for tonight will choose not to show up :)
