I know of no way to return home .. there have been those that have gone from here, but the circumstances of their return home have not been told to us. For now the best we can do, the lot of us, is help as needed ..

There have been a variety of creatures attacking the local population, we have been told .. There is a creature within the fog .. [She shivers.] Do not venture into the fog by yourself, Jael. We do not know what the creature is, but it will kill. There have been cockatrices .. a pair of them .. about two months ago

Yes, that appears to be the case .. There was a Calling at the time of our arrival. The magic summoned us here, and there are still stragglers appearing every so often. I wish that there was some fashion of pattern to it, but none that I can yet discern.

[Oh, right? Yeah, hope that whole non human thing doesn't get to you, Jael! Just going to forget to mention that this time, for the lulz!]

You are smarter than some that believe they are stronger than anything this place can throw at them. I do not make any such presumptions .. [Not since being turned to stone and living as an non-breathing statue for a week, tyvm.]
