 Today the best thing happened in first year seminar. We were learning about ancient writing forms, and the prof asked if anyone knew who the first civilization to have an alphabet was. There's this annoying know-it-all kid who answers almost every question, in an lengthy, sneering, annoyingly show-offy sort of way (and always gets the answers

OH, Ana, you are my lyrics-spouting hero. :D In Western Civilization (which I have since dropped, in favor of History of the English Language) we were discussing the self-same topic.

Also, he kept mentioning Gilgamesh, which made me smile. And Hammurabi was a bit of an ass, apparently. :P
