So, Science Olympiad results! Wanted to get on earlier, but I had AP exam practice all day. Anyways, without further ado, here's my results.

Chem lab - 6th place (this was good enough to warrant a medal!)
Environmental chem - 8th place
Picture this - 12th place.
Overall, our team got 4th, and that's out of 48 teams in the state of Michigan. Not good ( Read more... )

Congratulations, Ana! That's so excellent! You look so happy you could cry. ;P

But seriously. Isn't it great when douchebag teachers finally acknowledge you? My english professor this semester was like that. But then he decided I knew what I was talking about.

Goodness. I'm not any good at math, but that sounds like a LOT of calories.

Anyway, congrats again! You're so science. *highfive*

Thanks! I was actually going for a 'what now' kind of expression, but I've heard others say I look so happy I could cry. Which was not completely untrue at that time. I didn't realize until the bus ride home just how glad I was that I had been coerced into joining WOSO. We really had some good times. I really liked it, and I love everyone on my team so much. I'm going to miss them when I graduate. :'-)

Anyways, YES. Gah, I don't know how much I talked about it online, but for a while I was pretty convinced Lukow got his kicks from emotionally abusing me. I think it was his way of showing he cared about me, which is both touching and creepy. Ick, full-of-themselves English professors are the worst. or so I've heard.

*highfive!* "You're so science." Thanks. I like that. :D

"I've been extremely busy/lazy lately." Me too, not going to lie. ;D

Would it be Mr. Devine, by any chance? Because I'm pretty sure he hates me.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if I lost at least 5 pounds now that WOSO is done. Besides the competitions, there's homebaked snacks at every meeting. And I;m terrible at resisting delicious food when offered. ;p

Oh yes! I kind of forgot about that. But seriously, I promise I haven't lost it or anything! If you aren't too busy, you can probably come over some time this week.

Oh, I know, right? I think he just hates everyone. I get the impression he just hates his life and job and everything. Didn't really learn anything in his class, either.

And yes! I'm goign to Hope. :D I have a pretty good scholarship, too, but I'm hoping to get somethign from Wo because it's still quite expensive. X_x

Fourth out of forty-eight? That is bleedin' brilliant! I can't even fathom how brainy you all must be. It blows my mind, and I think I should just settle for "HOLY DANG. SO SMART."

Myself? I have a simple mind. I can't even comprehend maths. For instance I did not know you could calculate the amount of calories consumed by an entire team. I think people who can do such things are magicians. You, Ana, are a magician. OF SCIENCE. That is a bee-yoo-tee-full medal, and you deserve every (scientific measurement) of it!

And huzzah for Mr. Lukow finally wising up to your brilliance! That sounds like a wonderful achievement. =)

So that entire first paragraph was a self-esteem booster. :D Seriously, I should make a word document with everything aweosme you and Kori and Jade say to me on it so I can look at it when I'm having a bad day. "HOLY DANG. SO SMART." alone is a bucket o' smiles. :D

Ah, it's naught to be ashamed of. *Overly dramatic voice* Sometimes being smart is such a curse *drama over*. Actually usually not, except when you have to take AP calc exams and the like. But really, if you lack in math skills, at least you make up for them in awesomeness skills. :D
Anyways, I need to tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed being called a 'magician of science.' :D
And once again, thanks!
