It's honestly the mention of Abarat that solidified my interest here. I'm also a sucker for reimaginings of traditional children's stories. Double trouble, what.

Very much interested in the miller's daughter, but I also wouldn't be opposed to other fairytale creatures if you've managed to find someone in the few minutes it took to write up a reply.

I just can't stay away from any versions of fairytales that look a little deeper into the darker side of things, because, let's face it, the Grimm tales were pretty damn twisted. (And, oh, god, another Abarat fan!)

No one else has responded yet; I'm surprised (and gratified) that anyone's responded this quickly at all. :3

Delightfully twisted. There's something about trying to instill good morals in children through stories of murder and lying that is both hypocritical and effective. I love it. (Abarat, yes! I played Malingo in a panfandom game years ago and have yet to find anyone else who knows what the hell I'm talking about. Six years down, another few months to go until Absolute Midnight! /dork)

I picked the worst possible time to pop in, of course. I'll be off to bed in about an hour, but we can work out something in that time. I'm not familiar with The Book of Lost Things (but through google have decided I should be, and as quickly as possible) which I hope isn't a deterrent.

I'm not gonna lie, I can't wait. The gap between books has been exasperating; hopefully the payoff is worth it.

It's not a deterrent at all! The reference is mostly there to say that I won't be playing it straight from the original fairytale (but I do recommend the book - it's marvelous).

You still have my Red, if you want her?

Oh, indubitably! I adore, adore, adore your Red. I know Wolf's presence has been kind of sparse lately, but the dynamic between the two of them is one of my favorites that I've ever played around with.

She's one of my favorite, so I'm glad you like her. There's no need to apologize, I understand that things get in the way.
