Welp. It's Monday all right.

Day one of antepenultimate candidate. Two smallish errors I made have not had terrible consequences, but they annoy me and I hate them.

I never have time to coordinate my reading with other peoples' and ones that people host at their homes seem so high-pressure in terms of event planning. I get enough of that at my day job, thanks. *snort*

I love that this one meets in public, involves wine, and tends to read pretty good books. Now, if I can only get to more than one meeting! :D

*hugs* Thanks. I hate mistakes. I know they happen, especially when I'm stressed, but I still hate them.

What I love about the fb group is there are three group reads a month where you can participate or not, and there's discussion on them. Then there's other events you can participate in as well. So long as you participate in something you are welcome there, and of course you get understanding when things come up. It would be nice to have discussions face to face (though there's the occasional one we can group chat on the phone/computer with voice and face), but I haven't found one around here that I like and firs my schedule either.

Hugs. Trust me, so do I. Found one of mine today and I felt like a dog creeping in with a tucked tail when I admitted it even though he wasn't upset.

Blurb is such a great word. Now I want to know the etymology...

I had to look it up. :D It was coined and popularized in the early 20th c. by a humorist to mock the praise featured on book jackets, especially if it sounded like it was written by the publisher. It used to be primarily derisive. I like that it's diminutive now, but not necessarily nasty.

Ha ha ha! Of COURSE it was about an over-the-top publisher. I like that it's got a gentler ring now, but I absolutely see where that origins story comes from. XD
