WHO: Rukia, Yuuko, whoever else might be at Yuuko's. WHAT: Rukia pays a visit to the headmistress. WHERE: Tower 1. WHEN: Immediately after this. RATING: PG-13
Sabin came charging up the stairs, his breath coming in short, controlled bursts. As he came to the top of the stairwell, he could see Rukia half inside the Headmistress' office. Slowing, he took a deep breath and cleared his throat.
She squeaked a bit in surprise, even though she should have known he would be coming, and turned suddenly. The door snapped closed gently with the motion and her eyes widened as she promptly fell to the floor. Her foot really did not appreciate what she was doing to it and that turn was definetly not one it was grateful for. She leaned down on her hands, breathing heavy still from how much energy she'd used to get here and stared at the floor.
"Sabin. I..." She didn't know what to say. It didn't matter, did it? Whatever she did or said... it was all going to change soon anyway. "Please don't worry. I am fine."
As she fell, Sabin crossed the space between them in two long strides and knelt beside her. Laying his hand on hers, Sabin shook his head and smiled. "I told you before, Rukia, you can't get rid of me that easily... Besides," he added, hoping to avoid saying anything that would get her upset, "Gigai or no, you can't tell me that you're not hurting... Let me help you into Yuuko's office, at least."
She winced but nodded slowly. "Yes. I'm sorry to be keeping you from your duties." Surely he had to get cooking soon. That must be why he wanted to help her into the office so quickly. Or so she told herself.
((I'll assume it's in the office, not the tower~? Sorry I took so long.))
The gentle clatter of beads alerted the pair to the witch's entrance, as Yuuko brushed aside a string bead curtain in passing out of a doorway to their left. The doorway remained dark and impenetrable behind her, secretive.
"I apologize for keeping you waiting," she stated as she crossed over to her divan to face them. Maru and Moro virtually materialized at her side, appearing from some unnoticed corner of the room. Yuuko acknowledged Sabin with a nod and then turned to Rukia with a smile.
"It seems that you have made your choices only to have to face new ones."
