When: mid-afternoon, on the 28th
Where: the cafe
What: Today is Aoko's 18th birthday; clearly, this means party time.
It hadn't taken Akako very long, once she'd seen the cafe, to decide how to decorate. Some blue streamers on the outside of the building, sparkling confetti on the patio tables, and a group of balloons tied to one table in the middle, where the birthday girl would sit and accept her treats.
It looked amazing, if she was completely honest. The fact that her bracelet had hardly reacted at all made her feel much better about the whole thing. Aoko didn't know about that yet, and if she could Akako would keep it that way.
Besides, all the snacks had been handmade. More of them by Aoko than Akako would have liked, but the girl had a surprising talent for pastries. And the cafe's desserts would have been too expensive for Akako to purchase for everyone who was coming.
With one last spell, Akako created a small tiara studded with blue stones and sat it in front of Aoko's place.
Now, to wait for the others to get here.
