I love this series, and yes, I'm watching closely, too.
(Tangent: I like Green's Nightside stuff, too, but Butcher's more "real" for me. That said, Green's newest series, Shamus Bond: The Man with the Golden Torque and Daemons are Forever is just out now, is okay. Too close to the Nightside stuff, but cute quick reads.)
(Tangent 2: Daes, have you checked out Charles Stross's "Laundry" Series? The Atrocity Archives and Jennifer Morgue? I think you'll like those. Think "Men in Black" meets "The Office.")
ANYWAY, Dresden. Prediction 1: Harry Laid Low. Sure, I can go with that. We still need to figure out what promise Dresden's Godmother made to his mother so long ago. Something big is coming.
Prediction 2: Death of Murphy. Maybe. First is the easy one, the Death of Michael. We know that's coming. My addendum to your Prediction 2 is Karrin Murphy is the Newest Knight of the Cross. Those swords have got to go somewhere, and Harry's already got one

I haven't checked out Stross, but I'll keep his name in mind when I'm book hunting...
I thought about Murphy becoming a Knight as well, but it seems less likely at the end of this book. I dunno, maybe there'll be a second chance. And your comment about having another woman turn to the dark side made me think, "Oh yeah - where DID Susan go?" When she comes back, I have a feeling that Something Bad will come with her. And bang on with the prediction about Justin, too. Should have thought of that.
I haven't played shogi yet, no - I don't know anyone who plays it. It looks like fun, and since I'm terrible at Western chess, maybe I'll be so bad at shogi that I'll go out the other side and be good at it. *grin*
