So...

A long time ago, there was this website that had tons and tons of meta stuff on it.  I know Barb posted there a lot, but I cannot for the life of me recall the name.  Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Additionally, back in the day, were there more Bangels than Spuffies?  Were Spike fans in the minority, or am I just really senile now

I'm feeling positively geriatric in fandom years but if I recall, there were more Bangels than Spuffies in the first...3 to 4 seasons? Then after, I would hazard to guess, Harsh Light of Day and especially Something Blue the Spuffies rose up in droves. I know I did. Passively, tho. I didn't come online for things until Buffy's sixth season.

One of the first sites I remember finding was All Things Philosophical about (or on) BtVS. Tons of meta and one of my very first exposures to some shockingly different opinions. And Tea at the Ford - though for some reason, I didn't have a good time trying to navigate that site.

Yeah. B/A was the fandom juggernaut ship for the first three seasons. Buffy/Spike was a fairly small non-canon ship. When Spike became a regular in S4, B/S became more popular, but it didn't really take off until S5 when Spike fell for Buffy onscreen. At that point, Buffy and Angel were on different shows, a lot of former B/A fans had moved on or stopped watching while new viewers tended to gravitate towards what was happening onscreen right then. By S6, Buffy/Spike was the juggernaut ship.

By now, I suspect Spander has outstripped both of them, not because it's gotten any bigger, but because so many former B/A and B/S shippers have, for different reasons, left fandom.

I remember watching s4 during the first run and obsessively rewinding key bits in Hash Light of Day, intrigued by the way Buffy and Spike zeroed in on each other with their dates standing next to them, and thinking Buffy sound just slightly jealous when she said, "...and Harmony," focuses on Spike, "what, you lose a bet?". Almost as jealous as Spike sounded when he was taking Parker in. :)

Good times those were. *sigh*

I did!! I found, and I'm having a hell of a time navigating...

The site owner has very, um, idiosyncratic ideas about what makes a navigable site. When I was posting there I was able to use a back door that took me directly to new posts, otherwise I never would have been able to find anything ever. :P

I can't find any of the old posts that I loved so much :/ This site is damn near impossible.
