[Warden Filter Minus Howie | Audio]Due to recent developments and discussions, and the need for Cooper to act independently under the assurance he would no longer take the Barge hostage, I had very recently returned his gun as you would return someone's powers. He's a CIA agent. It's part of his job and the job he'll returning to when he leaves ( Read more... )

I've done something and I'm still in the process of doing something.

I'll take care of it. [He knows the "murder" thing won't work on a professional killer. And in many ways he resents that Cooper had to do this because he doesn't think it was a decision that Cooper was ready to make.]

Just help her. She was asking for someone to come find her at the end, so there's gonna be bigger problems than guilt.

And just what would you call 'appropriate' for something threatening the entire ship?

Consulting a person that had the senses to detect what was going on when he was only a human and only had one form of defense. There were a lot of magicians on board. I have a weapon meant to interfere with magic. There were resources that should have been touched on early on.

And if she wanted to die, it was inappropriate to request someone to do it for her, especially someone else's inmate. So yes. He was wrong.

There are times a sword will achieve the same result as any incantation.

This is a nonsensical verdict. What you have and refused to employ was hardly his concern! I'd wager you have yet to even show thanks.

And there were a whole lot of other swords from responsible wardens that might have been employed. I'm not going to reward him for what was a wrong decision.

Understood.

...

I do regret what happened, but she was putting the entire ship in danger. There'd already been one death and a large number of maimings and hospitalizations. All the other methods of stopping her failed and we didn't have time to keep trying.

Considering that she is a magical being, anyone who wasn't a magical being or had no substantial experience with them should not have been called upon for this action. Very well my inmate, who has now been thrown leaps and bounds back after I had actually made progress with him.

It didn't put him anywhere closer to his family.

It didn't put you anywhere closer to helping Romana and Leela.

It was a bad call.

Aside from Morrigan, I hadn't heard word of the magicians on board doing...

[It occurs to him now that he didn't ever ask what the other magic users on board thought of the situation. Magic wasn't something he was used to dealing with or thought to consult various experts on.]

Damn. [He mutters. He's still not wholly convinced he was wrong, but he does think that he slipped up in terms of getting all the intel to make the best decision. It would have taken a few seconds to add a network message to all the various mages and get their professional opinion on the situation. So although he may not have been wrong...he can't know if he was right, either.]

This is Howie's significant other. Howie, who is the loudest protester against weapons on board and while he may not get his way, he may make things very inconvenient. Also, Cooper never had it pointed out to him that unlike his job, he has to stay for aftermath. In this case, he's going to be here the rest of the time with his victim and his victim's significant other.

[Argh, so tired. So hurty.] There's a whole shitload of circumstances he wasn't ready to make a decision around. He killed someone because an angry lady broke her jar of marbles people were tripping and falling, not because of an organized strike.

[Ho shit, which one is this. Crap. Must go back and check network.]

A woman who otherwise appeared to be human had some high level of magical ability. She accidentally cursed the Barge after being driven to a point of frustration, and then claimed the way to get rid of the curse was to shoot her.

Prior to the curse, I had returned my inmate's weapon as a gesture of faith in his decision making and ability to consider more factors before acting. He didn't consider all factors and I was unconscious, therefore unable to monitor him. He killed her to end the curse.

...Are you... Will Graham?

I use them myself, and he's a CIA agent and it's important that he have one for his job, but I have to teach him how to be more than the mobile conveyance that someone directs to go kill someone.

[Welp. Shit. Bruce Banner.]

You were here before. But I never met you myself.

Cooper is pissed and angry and walking on a foot that he shouldn't be standing on yet.

He'll be alright.

He shot himself in it. Both literally and figuratively.

[He does love Cooper. He really does. Don't get him wrong...]
