Willow isn't an excellent liar, she's an excellent half truther! The inclusion of The Black Thorn, Faith's dead watcher, and The Levantine Scrolls are thickening the plot nicely.

Poor Xander, he's so overwhelmed it's no wonder he's kept Anya out of the loop. I'm looking forward to his explanations.

Heee! Well-said! :)

Thank you! I suspect I'm a gen writer at heart. I love writing shippy stuff, but I also love mapping a plot, dropping clues, making cliffhangers...

Poor, indeed. He will have a lot to explain... and then explain again. :)

Oh man! The plot thickens considerably! And Poor Xander! He's so worried about Faith and his possible child that he forget about his current girlfriend. Oops! That should be a fun explanation!

Yay! I'm glad the plot works for you!

Yes - Xander is in the eye of the storm, although he doesn't realize it yet... :)

Nice! I was under the impression this was canon S4 Faith in prison. Sounds like she went on a rampage--probably seeking redemption-through-suicide--that tore the guts out of Wolfram and Hart. Interesting twist to the Jossverse.

I have to confess that I cheated a bit. In canon, monks did their spell in August 2000, and in the story they did it earlier - somewhere in early spring. I hoped I could get away with this somewhat elastic timeline. (Season 4 ends March, 13, according to some estimations.)

But, of course, you're a writer, and you write plotty stories and you could easily see through my little cheating. :)

There will some conversations and kinda explanations later in the story, but the timeline will stay vague. I couldn't come up with a 100% consistent storyline that would satisfy both characters' journeys, so I cheated a bit.

(Besides, one of my secret wishes was having Faith as a regular on AtS. Especially in season 5, after the showrunners teased us with the prospect in season 4. So I just succumbed to the temptation to send Faith after The Black Thorn. I'm a big Wesley fan, so in my fics I always try to kill his murderer. In my previous one it was Dru who snapped Vail's neck; here Faith had the honor to off him).

I'm just now coming to terms with the idea that the altered-reality of Xander sleeping with Faith means that he cheated on Anya. Grrrr. It's making me very not happy with Xander.

Very interesting development with the Circle and Faith's first watcher. Nice and twisty. :)

Thank you! After these new revelations Xander and Willow are bound to suspect everybody :)

So Faith was taking out the Black Thorn? Fascinating. And I wonder exactly what this scroll means...prophecies are rarely exactly what they seem.

I have to confess: Faith as a regular on AtS has been my dream since she had reappeared on AtS in season 4. I even tried to map out an alternate AtS season 5 in which Faith wears the amulet, dies in the Hellmouth and reappears in Angel's office as a ghost. But I quickly realised that I was out of depth to rewrite a whole season, dropped the idea and wrote a story with Buffy wearing the amulet, etc. And it somehow turned into a BA fluff-fest. Apparently I wasn't ready to write serious stories back then. :)

prophecies are rarely exactly what they seem.

Hee! [Angel's voice] The prophecy's a bunch of bull. They all are.[/Angel's voice]
