HALLOW-FRIKKIN-WEEN-PALOZA 2020

Nov 02, 2020 09:33

Sorry for dropping off for 7 months. Needless to say, it hasn't been a good summer/fall for me.
However, 'The Rona' has taught me how to use my Unlisted YouTube account as a vlog, now freeing up my Dropbox from video files.

Well, as promised, here's my annual (?) video of HALLOW-FRIKKIN-WEEN-PALOZA!

OMG ALY.

"We're six feet apart because he has a pre-existing condition."

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL, I can't. 😂🤣

Your decorations are gorgeous, just like last year. ^_^ Sadly, Halloween around these parts was kind of a bust. Not a single kid, and nobody (us included) put out so much as a light. We'll do it up big for Christmas, though, no worries.

Good to see you back posting/in the land of the living!! I do so enjoy your vlogs!! *big hug*

Wow, I just noticed I'm starting to pronounce 'Halloween' more like a Mid-Westerner ( ... )

Well, our lack of lights/decorations is less "we don't want kids" and more "there are no kids" 'cause this neighborhood is super old. We had a sister duo across the street for years, but they moved away with their mom when the parents divorced, so we don't even have them to stock candy for these days...

In any case, all is well here in KY. (And it got infinitely better at the promise of Brontosaurus pics.) *hugs back*

Unfortunately, my neighborhood's lack of decorations has more to do with "we don't want kids robbing us" then "we don't have kids".

Oh, the brontosaurs? Yeah, there's the house across the street from mine's that's abandoned. And the people left all their hoarder-crap in their yard, one being this cement brontosaurs. I don't know when, but I want to sneak over there and try to salvage it.

It'll look amazing. I can even dress it up, you know, like those cement porch geese.

Every year we would always buy one bag of candy for the "just in case" moments, even though we live in a gated community, so we never had trick-or-treaters stopping by because they'd all go out elsewhere. It was mostly an excuse for us to eat candy before snagging MORE candy the day after Halloween when the sales started. So of course, with COVID and all the restrictions in place, we chose not to buy any candy and would wait until the day after for the sales... guess what? WE HAD TRICK-OR-TREATERS lol. Like WHAT? REALLY? Dammit. My sister answered the door and I heard her searching through her kitchen cabinets until she found some Sour Patch pouches to give to the kids LMAO!

Never the less, so happy to have seen this video! :) Nice to see the spirit of decoration hasn't gone out, even if the weather proves to be problematic at times. Those were the days, weren't they? When weather would be the only major factor for affecting a holiday...

I've always had this personal bias about Halloween as a holiday, mostly because my birthday is the day before so both of them just sort-of blurred together. I got cake AND free candy, what's not to love?!

And, it's like what I said to plainrea, it's more for the kids. Sure I love my lights, but all the kids that walk up just get all super-excited when they see everything. Even the teens who're trying to act all 'grown'...
I think the only person who doesn't like my lights is my next-door neighbor... then again, he doesn't my Christmas lights, either (I think he just hates lights, in general).
