Possible bed bug infestation: Looking for upholstery steamer & mattress encasers

One of my roommates recently noticed bites and thought they saw bed bugs in their room and possibly one on the couch in the living room. We're not positive it's bedbugs, but we've informed the landlord, and hopefully it's a false alarm

When my apartment was infested, I bought a mattress protector at http://www.toutpourledos.com. My mattress is a thicker than the average mattress, and it's the only place I found a mattress protector that fit. If you have a standard sized mattress you might be able to find one in other stores for a cheaper price. Any cover that protects against dust mites will work (dust mites are smaller than bed bugs, so if it blocks dust mites, it'll block bed bugs). Make sure it covers the entire mattress (not just the top) and can be sealed with a zipper
