I really enjoyed that - a view of their goodbyes that stands everything on its head, and points up very clearly that the end (as we left it) was always implicit in the beginning.

Thank you for this series of goodbyes. We should have known that Buffy and Angel wouldn't have a happy ending. (I think we did, right from the start, as you pointed out.)

But who's to say that in the future they can't? Maybe there are more goodbyes, or maybe, just for once it's forever.

Poor Buffy...I think you captured the essence of those two nicely in this.
And I noticed further down that you considered doing a future meeting where they don't say goodbye, but figured you shouldn't because it was IWRY. The only rule of this ficathon is that the story be B/A friendly...so happy endings are always welcome! Thanks so much for contributing this fic!
